Are you sabotaging your progress?

šŸ¤”Have you ever wondered why you binge even if you feel like you donā€™t restrict? Letā€™s chat about the difference between unconditional permission to eat and conditional permission to eatā€¦.

šŸ‘‰šŸ»Binge eating can happen for a various reasons, but one of the main contributors is restriction. This leads to a restrict/binge cycle; where you restrict which causes a binge, which causes you to further restrict again. The restriction can be physical (not eating enough) or mental (having food rules).

šŸ•To break free from restriction, you have to create unconditional permission to eat all foods. Unconditional permission means when listening to your body, you can have what you want, when you want, and how much you want. If you allow yourself to have all foods but create conditions around the permission, you may continue to binge.

šŸŖA conditional rule sounds something like ā€œI can have an oreoā€¦ but only oneā€, ā€œI can have pizzaā€¦ but only 1 sliceā€, ā€œI can have peanut butterā€¦ but only 2 tbspā€. When youā€™re putting conditions onto the foods you eat, this prevents you from being able to truly listen and honor your body. Think about it, what if you have 1 slice of pizza and are still hungry? That rule of ā€œI can only have one sliceā€ adds resistance and can cause you to feel hungrier later in the day or out of control around that food, leading to a binge!

Do any of these sound like you?!šŸ¤Æ
